The ancient paper mill in Shiqiao village, Nangao Township, Danzhai County, Qiandongnan Autonomous Prefecture is a well preserved "living fossil" of paper making. Among more than 200 households in this village, more than 40 are engaged in paper making industry. Up to now, the original family workshop and all manual production methods have been preserved, and the technology has been handed down from generation to generation. After years of practice and exploration, Wang Xingwu, a papermaking artist in this village, has developed and produced eight series of ancient color handmade paper, including concave convex, wrinkle, Yunlong, flattening, hemp silk, flowers and grass, and ultra-thin. Among them, the original flower grass paper is unique. Fresh flowers and grass picked from the mountains are put into the specially prepared wet pulp screen mold according to the artist's idea, and then poured with a layer of pulp The original color and shape of fresh flowers and plants are retained, and then dried.
Wang Xingwu's workshop produces more than 100 pieces of flower tissue paper every day. Due to the ultra-thin paper fiber, the flowers and plants are beautiful, natural and lifelike. The paper does not change color for a long time and has no pollution. It is very popular with customers. Its products are exported to Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Xiamen and other places in China, and exported to the United States, France and Southeast Asia. Its annual net income can reach more than 200000 yuan. Shiqiao ancient papermaking has been listed as the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage protection list published this year.
