Ningxia will build Xixia movable type printing Museum, with a construction area of 3400 square meters and a total investment of 12 million yuan. At present, the project has entered the stage of attracting investment, and the project unit is the Tourism Bureau of the autonomous region. It is planned to take the form of the joint venture, cooperation, and sole proprietorship.
In 1991, the Xixia Buddhist scripture "auspicious all the way to the mouth" unearthed from the ruins of the square Pagoda in baisigou, Helan Mountain, was studied by Niu Dasheng, a famous archaeologist and Xixia expert in our region. It is considered to be the earliest wood movable type in the world. The time of invention and use of movable type in China was mentioned from the traditional Yuan Dynasty to the Song Dynasty. In 1996, the discovery and research results were identified by experts organized by the Ministry of culture. For this reason, Niu Dasheng was called "the man who rewrites the history of printing" by the media.
